Idioteque Guitar Tablature
RADIOHEAD- Idioteque (Kid A)

transcription by Joey Gallagher

The song is tuned down a 1/4 step.

Alright I've worked this out for the guitar and the keyboard.
First the guitar part. The song uses some highly unusual chords but you can
overcome this by playing with a capo on the 3rd fret.
These chords are played over and over throughout. Even though the chords are
repetive the song does sound good on the guitar if you switch up your
strumming often.

The chords used for the guitar (Capo 3rd fret)

Em- (022000)
Cmaj7- (x32000)
Em/G- (022003)
C- (x32010)

Verse1

Em
losing bunker
Cmaj7
losing bunker
Em/G C
women and children first, then children first, then children,

Em Cmaj7
i laugh until my head comes off
  Em/G C
i swallow till I burst, until i burst, until i,

losing bunker
losing bunker
i've have seen too much, i haven't seen enough, you haven't seen,

i laugh until my head comes off
women and children first, then children first, then children,

Chorus1

Em Cmaj7 Em/G C
here I'm alive, everything all of the time
Em Cmaj7 Em/G C
here I'm alive, everything all of the time

Verse2 (same chord pattern as Verse1)

ice age comin'
ice age comin'
let me hear both sides, let me hear both sides, let me hear both,

ice age comin'
ice age comin'
throw him in the fire, throw it in the fire, throw it on the,

we're not scared mongering
this is really happening, happening,

we're not scared of mongering,
this is really happening, happening,

mobiles squirkin'
mobiles chirpin'
take the money and run, take the money and run, take the money,

Chorus2 (same as Chorus1)

here I'm alive, everything all of the time
here I'm alive, everything all of the time

here I'm alive, everything all of the time
here I'm alive, everything all of the time

(me first then the children, me first then the children)

Now if playing with a keyboard substitute the guitar chords for these chords
instead.

Em=     Gm
Cmaj7=  Ebmaj7
Em/G= Gm/Eb
C=      Eb

To show you how to play these chords on the keyboard i will break the keys
up into 3 sections.

    section1 section2 section3
CC#DEbEFF#GAbABbB CC#DEbEFF#GAbABbB CC#DEbEFF#GAbABbBC
                                           *-middle C

i.e so A2 would mean hit the A key in section 2

Here's how the chords are played

Gm- (G1 + Bb1 + D2 + G2)
Ebmaj7- (Eb2 + G2 + Bb2 + D3)
Gm/Eb- (G2 + Bb2 + D3 + Bb3)
Eb- (Eb2 + G2 + Bb2 + G3)

That's about it. The song sounds really good when I play it on the acoustic
guitar, but I can only really play up until the end of the 2nd chorus and
then the song sort of ends, usually I just make something up that sounds
very good for an outro.

If playing on the guitar try doing this picking pattern for the 1st part of
the song and then come in with some funky strumming for the 2nd verse when
the "ice age comin" part kicks in.

     Em Cmaj7
e--------------------------------------------
B----------0------------------------0---------
G--------------0-----0-----------------0------
D-------2---------2-------------2----------2--
A---------------------------3-----------------
E---0----------------------------------------

    Em/G C
e----------3------------0--------0------0--------------------
B-------------0------------1-------1------1-----1------------
G-------0--------0------------0------0------0------0------0--
D-----------------------------------------------------2------
A-----------------------3------------------------------------
E---0--------------------------------------------------------
