I can totally help u. I wuz just in Leader of the Pack. I wuz the waitress. I actually just got home from the closing show. Anyway, the lyrics to Rock of Rages...

No, I'm not doin' very well. I built a lot of dreams, but they fell down two by two. Yes it's true.

I never thought he'd say good-bye. But when the music changed I felt the magic die. Oh why... oh why?

We were standin' at the top. But the panic wouldn't stop. And the chapel of love fell down. With the English beat all around.

I don't wanna turn the pages. Rock of Rages.

Oh, Mama- I'm callin', but no one listens to me anymore.
Oh, Daddy- I'm fallin'. And please catch me like you always did... before.

Oh, now I'm barely hangin' on. You know, the fear rushed in when the innocence was gone. It was gone... can't go on.

I tried to sleep away the pain. But I can't keep the tears from fallin' like the rain. It's insane. All this pain.

You know, I was hiding. My worlds colliding. And the leader of the pack went down. Is she ever comin' back to town.

I don't wanna turn the pages. Rock of Rages.

Mama I miss you- Wanna be with you. Mama you always knew how to help me.
And Daddy I miss you- Wanna be with you. Wish you could come back just for a little while.

Oh, Mama- I'm breakin'. Please take me and hold me in your arms tonight.
Oh, Daddy- I'm shakin'. Please wake me... and tell me everything's alright.

Glad I could help you out. I totally love this song. When the girl who played Ellie Greenwich sang it, I wuz crying backstage!

I'd like to thank you for your help but er, that post was 2 years ago! Hehe. I have since found the words and I performed the song for my HSC. Thanks anyway for your help!

Its great to hear you performed in the show, its a great show. I did a short stint in the professional version here in australia and guess who I was...you got it, the waitress hehehe. Well, apart from being a member of the chorus that is. I got to be on rollerskates for the waitress bit, did you? Loads of fun.

The girl who did Ellie in our show was fantastic too - everyone always stopped what they were doing to watch that song. So moving.

I was in the Leader Of The Pack Show too. I played The waitress also. That was one of the sadest songs I heard in that play. It became a big hit with me and the other actors. We ended up singing it all the time just because it was dramatic and cool sounding. By the end of the whole thing we knew it all by heart and we wished we could repeat the whole thing over to hear the girl who played Ellie Greenwich sing it again.

My high school just did it this fall too. I feel so left out though, I wasn't a waitress...actually not. I really didn't want the part...being male and all...dot dot dot ... yes. I was quote "Male backup singer." and 24 straight measures of doom bah bah is evil. I ramble on and on, I know. Emo emus go mu.

When I was in that play I played the part of Patty. Well, the lines were split up. I sang in Be my Baby and danced, I sang in Chaple of Love, Today I met the Boy I'm gonna marry, and so much more. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES. Hell, if I could repeat the experience I prolly wouldn't. You see my director was jumping on me because at one part of the show I had to come in late just because my friend said I absolutely "HAD TO" BIG MISTAKE!

Hey,
I'm doing Leader Of The Pack this year. As Pattie! icon_smile.gif
Rock Of Rages is probably one of the best songs from that musical. When one of the Ellie's (we have a double cast) sings that song I have goosebumps. Well, of course hte other Ellie does it well, too. But yanno.
My school's cast for LOTP seems to be having a lot of trouble with the musical. For Little Shop Of Horrors things weren't this hectic in terms of learning choreography and songs and getting our scenes in order. Did anyone else have these problems? Also, anyone have any quick costume changes secrets? icon_wink.gif

I was in Leader of the Pack as well I played Ellie my freshmen year, three years ago, some of my best friend are graduating this year, and their one request at Thespian Inductions to sing Rock of Rages one last time....that song moved so many and touched my life and heart. I am forever in debt to Ellie Greenwich, she gave me the drive to keep moving.

I've gotta hand it to you all... I personally did NOT like this musical the first few months when we were practicing, but- I just got home from my first feeder school performance, and- it was great. Seeing all of the yonger ones laugh and joke along with us. Tears did show, but they were happy tears and I just dont kno how many people are going to bawl on the last performance. There was a kid out there, today that will forever touch my heart. He was disabled, the sweetest kid you could ever meet. He waved and laughed and had a ball out there in the audience. It was great. ANYWAYS, in our version, Darlene is the one singing this song "Rock of Rages" --> absolutely great song, by the way. So much emotion. And, while Darlene is singing, we have Ellie running around stage, freaking out, crying, wripping out music paper, it's so dramatic, but soo emotional as well. It kind of scares me and gives me shivers and makes me cry. It's a grrreat song! And, I'll admit it.. it's an O.K. musical.

Did any group or individual ever record Rock of Rages? It sounded so familiar to me, or was it just written for the Play? I just saw the play last night at our local theater. It was great.
