When I try to convert something on the Midi to Mp3 Converter, I get the error message: Error: Database Query Failed.
Why is this so?

Same problem here - a week ago, and then again when I tried it now.

I also get 'Error: database query failed' - though I used the site a only few weeks ago (cant remember when exactly) and it worked with no problems.

Okay, so it seems the converter is down for the moment. Any confirmation on when it'll be working again? If it'll be a while, is there any way to get access to the soundfonts used in the converter so we can convert files ourselves in the meantime?

Bumping! (sorry sorry sorry)
Does anyone know of another free converter to use in the meantime? Even if it uses your local midi library that would be fine! I've tried Audacity but it doesn't seem to be able to playback let alone export from midi, despite various implications otherwise that I've seen.

Cheers!

Will this problem ever be addressed by someone, or should we take this silence as a sign that the converter is just dead for good? I'm sure the admin knows at least something about the converter as he talked about the soundfonts used in it about a year ago, and the last time he posted was a freaking day before this topic started...

I'm sure the converter is difficult to maintain and I want to believe they're hard at work on repairing it, but I just can't be sure without anything to go by! Please, somebody, just tell us what's going on! Something as simple as "we're looking into it"... Even if it's just telling us that you're going to leave the converter broken, give us some official stance on the matter!

For now, I've been using Solmire.com
Check it out, it's pretty cool
Although I do prefer Hamienet's normal soundfont icon_neutral.gif
